10 Feb: C.TI weekly round up!

Here are 3 announcements that caught our attention this week.

  1. Airbnb extending ID verification
Always curious to see how ID verification will be implemented and the level of assurance Airbnb may require; security/safety/privacy/convenience tradeoffs as always. A run through of what may be expected out of Airbnb this year.
  2. New “on campus” access control standard
LEAF presents a solution for campuses seeking an open alternative to traditional access control platforms. LEAF is an open, interoperable platform that allows credential holders to use their LEAF ID card, key fob or smartphone to unlock access to various campus applications through any LEAF-enabled reader.
  3. Holder binding? Huh? Human authentication? Device authentication?
If you’ve been skimming across the SSI / VC space over the past few years you’ve likely seen this term. This is a great and detailed read out of RWOT11 which helps to dispel this and provides a ton of insight into the capabilities that are really needed.
